Senior Surveyor / Associate – Residential Valuation and Strategic Advisory – London based

We need a qualified senior surveyor or associate to join the team to work closely with the Senior Director leading the growing Strategic Advisory part of our residential valuation work, based in our head office at 30 Warwick Street, London, W1B 5NH.

You will be contributing to a diverse range of complex and interesting residential valuation and strategic advisory instructions in London and throughout the country. Core to this role will be statutory leasehold enfranchisement valuations and negotiations of residential lease extensions and freehold acquisitions, for a wide range of client types, including landlords and tenants. 

This role will suit a person with both an eye for detail and a grasp of the bigger picture. Interest in the residential sector, adaptability and enthusiasm for achieving the best client outcomes is essential.  

The right candidate must have a willingness to learn, develop and take on more responsibility over time, will be independent and resourceful, highly numerate, and capable of adopting multiple valuation methodologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including fluent report writing, are essential.

Required or desirable skills and experience for this role:  

  • MRICS qualification (essential).

  • RICS Registered Valuer.

  • Solid experience in valuing residential property assets using the comparison, residual, investment capitalisation and approaches, and ideally, under the leasehold enfranchisement legislation.

  • Fluent user of MS Excel, with an ability to undertake financial modelling.

  • Excellent written English, with the ability to produce high quality, accurate reports in MS Word with good attention to detail.

  • Experience of direct client contact (in-person and written communications) and confidence in developing a client and professional network.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.

  • Committed to learning with a genuine interest in housing and valuation matters.

  • Strong work ethic, with a demonstrable commitment to client service.

  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated.

  • Team player mentality essential.

  • Driving licence.
