What you will do

Lead the execution of the site technology roadmap strategy and corresponding capital plan supporting the successful execution of the technology strategy. Provide the site Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team with direction and sufficient coaching to ensure the operational and technology roadmap strategies are executed on time and within budget. Provide coaching and leadership to ensure the site is highly successful in quality and on time delivery.

How you will do it

Lead the development of the Factory Master Plan, including defining flow, layout, and systems within the facility. Lead Manufacturing Engineers to drive improvements in plant production flow. Lead value stream mapping efforts in the facility to help identify and address inefficiencies. Lead team with a focused problem-solving mentality, driving a shift from firefighting to DMAIC approach. Drive localization and execution of the NA AHU technology roadmap strategy. Drive implementation of OEE tracking and reporting on all critical machinery and systems. Drive implementation of capacity utilization measurements and reporting. Lead the development of the annual/long-term capital plan for manufacturing with focus on CRSD, quality, and the technology strategy. Work with Manufacturing Engineering Leads at other NA AHU sites (and other JCI sites) to share best practices. Lead and provide guidance for the plant leadership team to ensure Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR’s) are developed and approved on time, supporting the successful execution of the site capital plan. Work with product engineering teams to drive for improved Design for Manufacturing (DFM) in site processed. Respectfully challenge the status quo and act as a role model for Lean thinking for your team and site. Raise the performance and talent level in the plant through active engagement with leaders and employees.  Mentor, coach and train throughout assigned organization. Create an inclusive culture through role modeling, setting expectations and course correcting. Ensure that cost savings generated from capital projects are captured and reported vs. the original business case to ensure project ROI meets expectation detailed in the CAR’S. Other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study, which could include Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Operations
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering operations.
  • Leader with past functional expertise within Operations and Lean
  • Proven capability leading engineering and operations organizations.
  • Proven ability to apply and coach DFM, problem solving, Lean and theory of constraints practices across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to distill complex facts and data and communicate on plant level.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills — ideally, demonstrated when working with plant leadership-level individuals. Must be comfortable maintaining communication within all levels of the site as well as interactions with customers and visiting leaders.
  • Solid understanding of business planning processes and key business metrics to be achieved.
  • Able to work independently and achieve set goals.

$126,000-175,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, 
knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market
