Job Description

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sustaining Engineer who will work closely with the contract engineers and design team. In this role, you will provide product support for the business working together with other departments such as production, manufacturing, quality, engineering, planning, purchasing with the purpose to comply with the customer requirements and global standards. You will get the opportunity to review and improve the products, reduce the cost and implement engineering changes. You will also work closely with internal and external departments, as well as direct customers!

If you enjoy problem solving, root cause analysis, complex designs, and managing multiple projects at one time, this could be a great opportunity for you! Will work closely with design and contract Engineering to communicate the design specifications, test criteria, and receive feedback to improve the design product. Must work with data and understand the engineering tools to generate required data to take decisions.

  • Work under pressure
  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
  • Provides manufacturing support ensuring products are built according to customer requirements and product specifications.
  • Performs failure analysis and corrective actions
  • Working with refrigeration systems

What we look for
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical discipline
  • Able to speak to technical and non-technical audiences, as well as absorb and use technical documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule driven, team-oriented environment.

Preferred

  • HVAC or research and development experience.
  • Experience in bills of material maintenance, engineering changes or super-user capabilities in unrelated modules
  • Familiarity with HVAC Systems and electromechanical engineering design
  • Knowledge on Automation software
  • Internship or co-op experience

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
