Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and monthly fund accounting tasks including NAV calculations, trade settlements, and reconciliations for alternative investment funds
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, custodians, and external auditors to resolve discrepancies and support fund audits
  • Analyze fund performance metrics and prepare variance reports for senior management
  • Implement and maintain fund control procedures to mitigate operational risks in hedge funds and private equity portfolios
  • Support the development of automated reporting tools using Excel, SQL, or VBA to enhance efficiency
  • Monitor cash flows, accruals, and expense allocations across multiple fund structures
  • Contribute to process improvements and participate in ad-hoc projects related to alternatives fund operations
  • Liaise with global teams to ensure seamless fund administration in a multi-time zone environment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging regulations in alternatives investments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in fund accounting, financial reporting, or alternatives investment operations
  • Strong understanding of alternative investments including hedge funds, private equity, and real assets
  • Proficiency in financial reconciliation processes and regulatory reporting standards such as GAAP or IFRS
  • Experience with fund administration software or ERP systems like Investran or Advent
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight deadlines
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or CFA (or in progress)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance)
  • Prior experience at a major financial institution or asset management firm
  • Knowledge of Indian financial regulations and SEBI guidelines
  • Familiarity with derivatives valuation and performance measurement
  • Demonstrated project management experience in financial controls
