Key Responsibilities

  • Perform independent price verification for complex financial instruments to ensure accurate fair value assessments
  • Collaborate with front office, risk management, and product control teams to resolve valuation discrepancies and challenges
  • Develop and maintain valuation models for derivatives, structured products, and other assets
  • Monitor market data and external pricing sources to validate internal valuations
  • Conduct periodic reviews and attestations of valuation processes in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Analyze and report on valuation adjustments, including independent price testing (IPT) results
  • Support the implementation of new valuation policies and procedures aligned with JP Morgan's global standards
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, such as system enhancements or audit support, to improve valuation controls
  • Ensure documentation of all valuation activities for audit trails and regulatory reporting
  • Stay updated on market trends and evolving valuation regulations to enhance control frameworks

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in valuation control, financial analysis, or a similar role within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, including derivatives, fixed income, and equities
  • Proficiency in valuation methodologies and price verification processes
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as IFRS 13 and fair value accounting standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Finance or related discipline
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, or other financial data platforms
  • Prior exposure to JP Morgan Chase's systems or similar banking environments
  • Certification such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Familiarity with Python or VBA for financial modeling
