Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of applied AI/ML solutions to solve complex problems in risk management, fraud detection, and customer personalization within JP Morgan Chase's financial services ecosystem
• Architect scalable ML pipelines and infrastructure that integrate with core banking systems, ensuring high availability and performance
• Collaborate with agile teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to translate financial business requirements into technical solutions
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on best practices for model training, evaluation, and monitoring in production
• Conduct code reviews, optimize algorithms for efficiency, and ensure adherence to JP Morgan's security and compliance standards
• Drive innovation by exploring emerging AI technologies like generative AI and applying them to predictive science challenges in finance
• Monitor and maintain deployed models, performing root cause analysis on performance issues and implementing improvements
• Partner with global teams in Bengaluru and other locations to align AI initiatives with firm-wide technology strategies
• Contribute to the evolution of JP Morgan's AI governance framework, focusing on ethical AI and bias mitigation in financial applications
• Present technical findings and roadmaps to senior leadership to secure buy-in for AI projects

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• 8+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or lead role
• Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments, preferably in financial services
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for building scalable AI systems
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including ML-specific services
• Deep understanding of data privacy regulations like GDPR and financial compliance standards (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS)
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in an agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with focus on AI/ML or predictive analytics
• Experience in financial modeling, risk assessment, or fraud detection using AI in banking
• Certifications in machine learning (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Professional ML Engineer)
• Prior work at a major financial institution or fintech company
• Knowledge of explainable AI techniques for regulatory compliance in finance
