Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support investment analytics and reporting for JP Morgan Chase's Asset Management division
• Collaborate with investment teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions
• Implement ETL processes to integrate diverse data sources, ensuring data quality and compliance with financial regulations
• Build and optimize data models for portfolio performance analysis, risk assessment, and asset allocation strategies
• Utilize big data technologies to handle large volumes of market and investment data efficiently
• Work with cross-functional teams in Shanghai and global offices to deliver innovative data-driven insights for asset management
• Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure high availability and performance in a 24/7 financial environment
• Contribute to the adoption of AI/ML techniques for predictive investment modeling
• Ensure all data engineering practices adhere to JP Morgan Chase's security and governance standards
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices in financial data engineering

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or software development within the financial services industry
• Strong understanding of asset management and investment processes, including portfolio management and risk analysis
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data technologies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Shanghai, China
• Fluency in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus for local stakeholder interactions

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Finance, Data Science, or related discipline
• Prior experience at a major financial institution like JP Morgan Chase or similar
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in asset management (e.g., SEC, MiFID II)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud in a financial context
• Certifications in data engineering (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics) or finance (e.g., CFA Level 1)

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and automation
• Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience with ETL tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, or Informatica
• Knowledge of big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka
• Understanding of financial data concepts like time-series analysis and market data feeds
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for complex investment data challenges
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with non-technical investment professionals
• Familiarity with cloud computing services (AWS, Azure) for scalable data solutions
• Agile development methodologies and version control (e.g., Git)
• Attention to detail in ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Ability to handle high-pressure environments typical in asset management
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Basic knowledge of machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn) for investment applications
