Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to Japanese authorities and international bodies, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations
  • Collaborate with internal teams including portfolio managers, compliance officers, and operations to gather and validate data for reporting
  • Identify opportunities for process innovation and automation to enhance efficiency in asset management regulatory reporting
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews on reports to mitigate risks and ensure data integrity
  • Monitor regulatory changes in Japan and globally, advising on impacts to JP Morgan Chase's asset management operations
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests and participate in regulatory audits and examinations
  • Develop and maintain documentation for reporting procedures and controls
  • Foster a collaborative environment by mentoring junior team members and sharing best practices
  • Analyze reporting metrics to drive continuous improvement in fund servicing operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in regulatory reporting, compliance, or fund servicing within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of Japanese financial regulations, including those from the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and international standards like FATCA and AIFMD
  • Proficiency in financial reporting standards such as IFRS and GAAP
  • Experience with asset management products, including mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (business level), with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance) or relevant certifications like CFA or CPA
  • Prior experience at a global financial institution such as JP Morgan Chase or similar
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools and automation in regulatory reporting processes
