Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the legal review and compliance assessment of digital banking products and services being developed for Chase Germany
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors, partners, and regulatory bodies to support the launch of innovative financial solutions
  • Conduct research on evolving German and EU regulatory landscapes, including fintech-specific rules, and provide summaries to senior legal teams
  • Support the preparation of regulatory filings, disclosures, and responses to BaFin inquiries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, compliance, and technology) to ensure legal risks are mitigated in digital bank initiatives
  • Maintain and update legal documentation, policies, and procedures for the digital banking division
  • Monitor and advise on data privacy compliance under GDPR for customer-facing digital platforms
  • Assist in litigation support and internal investigations related to financial services operations
  • Coordinate with external counsel on complex legal matters involving international banking regulations
  • Contribute to training programs on legal and regulatory topics for non-legal staff in Chase Germany

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; a legal apprenticeship (Rechtsanwaltsgehilfe) or equivalent qualification is required
  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in the financial services sector, preferably in banking or fintech
  • Strong knowledge of German and EU financial regulations, including GDPR, BaFin requirements, and PSD2
  • Proficiency in German and English (both written and spoken) at a native or C1 level
  • Experience with contract drafting, review, and negotiation in a corporate legal environment
