Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the price verification process for a portfolio of financial instruments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies
  • Partner with trading, risk management, and front-office teams to resolve valuation discrepancies and issues
  • Perform independent price testing and challenge front-office marks using market data and pricing models
  • Develop and maintain valuation models for complex derivatives and structured products
  • Monitor market data sources and ensure timely incorporation of new pricing inputs
  • Contribute to the preparation of valuation reports for senior management and regulatory submissions
  • Identify and escalate potential valuation risks or control weaknesses to improve processes
  • Collaborate on ad-hoc projects related to valuation enhancements or system implementations
  • Ensure adherence to JP Morgan's global valuation control framework and regulatory standards
  • Support audit and examination processes by providing documentation and explanations on valuation methodologies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in valuation control, financial reporting, or a similar role within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, including derivatives, fixed income, and equities
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation methodologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as IFRS 13, ASC 820, and Basel III
  • Experience with data analysis tools and financial databases
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance) or professional certifications like CFA or CPA
  • Prior experience at a major financial institution like JP Morgan Chase
