Key Responsibilities

  • Execute independent price verification for a portfolio of financial instruments to ensure accurate fair value assessments
  • Collaborate with front office, risk management, and product control teams to resolve valuation discrepancies and issues
  • Perform detailed analysis of pricing models, market data, and third-party valuations
  • Monitor and challenge broker quotes and external pricing sources for reliability and compliance
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of valuation control policies and procedures
  • Support month-end and quarter-end valuation processes, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Identify and escalate potential valuation risks or control weaknesses to senior management
  • Utilize analytical tools to automate and streamline verification workflows
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in valuation control
  • Assist in training junior team members and promoting a culture of accuracy and integrity

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in valuation control, financial reporting, or a similar role within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, including derivatives, fixed income, and equities
  • Proficiency in valuation methodologies and pricing models
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as IFRS 13 and US GAAP for fair value measurements
  • Experience with data analysis tools and financial software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance) or professional certification (CFA, CPA, or FRM)
