The Business Manager in Payments – Associate role, based in our Frankfurt office, plays a pivotal role in supporting the EMEA Payments Business Management team. This position focuses on driving strategic initiatives, enhancing controls, and optimizing performance for our EEA and Switzerland branches, ensuring alignment with J.P. Morgan's global standards and regulatory requirements. As a Business Manager, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders to shape the strategic direction of our payments business in the region. Your responsibilities will include analyzing performance data to identify growth opportunities, implementing risk controls to mitigate operational and compliance risks, and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders such as regulators, clients, and internal teams. You will contribute to the development of innovative payments solutions tailored to the EMEA market, drawing on your expertise in financial services to navigate complex regulatory landscapes like PSD2 and SEPA. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic initiatives for the EMEA Payments business, focusing on EEA and Switzerland branches
• Monitor and enhance performance metrics, including revenue growth, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction
• Implement robust controls and risk management frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance in payments operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, technology, and compliance, to drive business objectives
• Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform payments strategy and innovation
• Prepare executive reports and presentations on business performance and strategic recommendations
• Support branch-level operations in Frankfurt, ensuring alignment with global J.P. Morgan standards
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with regulators, clients, and internal partners
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimizations in payments workflows
• Contribute to the development of training programs and best practices for the payments team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business management, payments, or financial services within a banking environment
• Strong understanding of EMEA payments regulations, including PSD2, SEPA, and SWIFT standards
• Proficiency in financial analysis, risk management, and performance metrics
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English; German language skills preferred for Frankfurt operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, international team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) in Finance or related discipline
• Experience in J.P. Morgan Chase or a similar global investment bank
• Knowledge of EEA and Swiss banking frameworks and compliance requirements
• Prior exposure to payments strategy development and implementation
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or equivalent
