Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments for commercial banking clients, including analysis of financial statements, cash flows, and industry risks
  • Develop and recommend credit structures, limits, and pricing for new and existing deals in alignment with JP Morgan Chase's risk appetite
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signs of credit deterioration, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, legal, and compliance teams to ensure seamless deal execution and regulatory adherence
  • Prepare detailed credit memos and presentations for senior management and credit committees
  • Utilize advanced analytics and stress testing to evaluate portfolio risks under various economic scenarios
  • Support the implementation of credit policies and procedures specific to the Commercial Banking division
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, such as portfolio reviews or regulatory reporting for the Bengaluru team
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to inform risk decisions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in credit risk analysis, underwriting, or portfolio management within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products, including loans, lines of credit, and trade finance
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and credit assessment methodologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as Basel III, RBI guidelines, and IFRS 9
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and credit reports
  • Fluency in English; additional languages like Hindi or regional languages are a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance) from a recognized institution
  • Experience working in a global banking environment, preferably with multinational clients
  • Certification in credit risk management, such as CFA or FRM
