Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall data governance strategy for JP Morgan Chase's Chief Data Office, aligning with business objectives and regulatory standards
• Lead the design and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility across the organization
• Oversee data stewardship programs, collaborating with business units to define data ownership and accountability in the financial services context
• Drive the adoption of data governance tools and technologies, including metadata management and data cataloging systems
• Monitor and report on data governance metrics, ensuring compliance with industry regulations like Dodd-Frank and SOX
• Foster a data-driven culture by providing governance training and guidance to stakeholders in Mumbai and global teams
• Identify and mitigate data-related risks, particularly in areas like anti-money laundering (AML) and risk management
• Partner with senior executives to integrate data governance into strategic initiatives, such as digital transformation and AI/ML projects
• Manage a team of data governance professionals, promoting innovation in data management practices
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to enhance data accessibility while maintaining security in a high-stakes financial environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles within the financial services industry
• Proven leadership experience in directing data strategy and governance initiatives at a senior level
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, Basel III, and CCAR in the banking sector
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks in large-scale financial institutions
• Strong knowledge of data quality, metadata management, and data lineage tools
• Certification in data management (e.g., CDMP) or governance (e.g., DAMA) is highly desirable

• Experience working at a global investment bank like JP Morgan Chase
• Advanced degree in Data Science or Business Analytics
