Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on fixed income and equity index products, developing innovative methodologies for global institutional clients
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and launch new index-based investment solutions
  • Analyze market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting index performance
  • Prepare detailed research reports, whitepapers, and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients
  • Monitor and benchmark index performance against competitors, providing actionable insights
  • Support client inquiries and consultations on index strategies, customization, and risk management
  • Contribute to the development of proprietary tools and models for index construction and rebalancing
  • Stay abreast of industry innovations in indexing, including smart beta and thematic indices
  • Assist in marketing efforts by representing the Global Index Research Group at industry conferences
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies in all research activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree (MBA or Master's) preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial research, index products, or fixed income/equity markets
  • Strong understanding of global index methodologies, fixed income securities, and equity derivatives
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using tools like Excel, Python, or R
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and trends
  • Series 7 and 86/87 licenses or willingness to obtain them
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in New York, NY

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in index research or product development at a major financial institution
  • Knowledge of ESG integration in index products and sustainable investing trends
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or other financial data platforms
  • Prior publication or presentation experience in financial research forums
