Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with emerging middle market clients in San Diego and surrounding areas, delivering tailored financial solutions to support their growth objectives
  • Identify new business opportunities by prospecting within the local market, leveraging JP Morgan Chase's national platform to cross-sell products like cash management, foreign exchange, and capital markets services
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessments for prospective and existing clients, recommending appropriate lending structures in line with bank policies
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including treasury services, investment banking, and wealth management teams, to provide holistic advisory services
  • Monitor client portfolios to ensure compliance with covenants, manage renewals, and mitigate potential risks through proactive portfolio management
  • Prepare and present credit proposals to senior management and credit committees, articulating the business case for financing decisions
  • Participate in community outreach and industry events to enhance JP Morgan Chase's brand presence in the San Diego region
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to build a high-performing commercial banking team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or relationship management within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record of managing client portfolios in the emerging middle market segment (companies with $10M-$50M in revenue)
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending products, including lines of credit, term loans, and treasury management services
  • Active network in the San Diego business community with experience serving diverse industries such as technology, healthcare, and manufacturing
  • Ability to underwrite and structure complex credit facilities while adhering to JP Morgan Chase's risk management standards
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses or willingness to obtain them

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or related field
