Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts for marketing vendors, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's risk and compliance standards
  • Provide legal advice on marketing initiatives, including digital advertising, sponsorships, and promotional campaigns
  • Collaborate with marketing, procurement, and compliance teams to mitigate legal risks in vendor transactions
  • Conduct due diligence on marketing partners and assess regulatory compliance in advertising materials
  • Support the resolution of disputes arising from marketing contracts and vendor relationships
  • Stay updated on evolving UK, EU, and global regulations affecting financial services marketing
  • Contribute to the development of contract templates and playbooks for the Legal Marketing Team
  • Assist in training junior team members and stakeholders on contract best practices
  • Monitor and report on key legal metrics related to marketing vendor engagements

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contracts, preferably in a financial services or in-house legal environment
  • Strong understanding of UK and EU marketing regulations, including GDPR, ASA guidelines, and consumer protection laws
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts with marketing vendors such as agencies, media buyers, and digital service providers
  • Knowledge of financial services compliance requirements, including those from the FCA and relevant international standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global team environment within a major financial institution
  • Excellent academic background, ideally with a law degree from a recognized UK university
