Key Responsibilities

  • Examine and verify documents for commercial letters of credit, standby letters of credit, and guarantees to ensure compliance with terms and ICC rules
  • Review collections, supply chain finance, and loan documents for accuracy and adherence to JP Morgan Chase policies
  • Identify discrepancies in documentation and recommend resolutions to mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with global trade finance teams to support client transactions and resolve issues
  • Conduct risk assessments on specialty products to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Process and approve or reject documents based on established criteria, maintaining audit trails
  • Assist in training junior staff on document examination best practices
  • Monitor and report on portfolio performance for standby letters of credit and related products
  • Liaise with clients and counterpart banks to facilitate smooth transaction processing
  • Stay updated on changes in trade finance regulations and implement necessary updates in workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade finance, letters of credit, or documentary credits examination
  • In-depth knowledge of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules, including UCP 600, ISP98, and URR 725
  • Proficiency in reviewing and examining commercial and standby letters of credit documents for compliance
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations and risk management in financial services
  • Experience with supply chain finance and loan syndication products
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP) or equivalent certification
