Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures tailored to the Channel Islands operations, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's global standards
  • Monitor and assess regulatory changes from bodies like the JFSC, FATF, and other international regulators, advising senior management on impacts and mitigation strategies
  • Oversee AML/KYC programs, including transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and reporting suspicious activities to relevant authorities
  • Conduct regular compliance audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to foster a culture of integrity across the team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in legal, risk, and business units to integrate compliance into daily operations and product development
  • Manage investigations into potential compliance breaches, ensuring timely resolution and escalation to JP Morgan's global compliance framework
  • Report on compliance metrics and key risk indicators to senior leadership and regulatory bodies, supporting JP Morgan's commitment to transparency
  • Drive initiatives to enhance compliance technology and tools, such as automated monitoring systems, within the Channel Islands jurisdiction
  • Mentor and develop junior compliance staff, promoting best practices in ethical conduct and regulatory adherence

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs within the financial services industry
  • In-depth knowledge of international regulatory frameworks, including those applicable to the Channel Islands, such as Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) requirements
  • Proven track record in managing compliance programs in a banking or asset management environment
  • Professional certification such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager), or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and sanctions compliance
  • Experience working in an offshore financial center like the Channel Islands

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or JD) in Law, Finance, or Compliance
