Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of small business clients by identifying needs and offering tailored financial solutions such as loans, lines of credit, and treasury services
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and credit underwriting to assess client risk and recommend appropriate products from JP Morgan Chase's suite of offerings
  • Prospect and acquire new business banking relationships through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach in the Kansas City metropolitan area
  • Collaborate with internal teams including credit risk, product specialists, and branch partners to deliver seamless client experiences
  • Monitor client accounts for performance, compliance, and opportunities for cross-selling additional JP Morgan services like merchant processing or investment advisory
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on cash management, capital structure, and growth financing to support their business objectives
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including KYC, AML, and fair lending practices in all client interactions
  • Prepare and present business plans, market analyses, and performance reports to senior leadership
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team goals in a high-performance environment
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and competitive landscape to inform client strategies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial banking, business development, or financial services
  • Proven track record in originating and managing business banking relationships with small to mid-sized businesses
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and financial statement review
  • Active Series 6 and 63 licenses or willingness to obtain them
  • Experience with CRM systems and financial modeling tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance
  • Prior experience working at a major financial institution like JP Morgan Chase
  • Knowledge of Midwest regional markets, particularly Kansas City business landscape
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or other languages relevant to diverse small business clients
  • Certification in commercial lending or credit risk management (e.g., CCE or CRCM)
