Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Berlin and global hubs to integrate controls into daily banking activities, including payments, settlements, and client onboarding
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and operational metrics, providing timely reporting to senior management and the firm's Control Management governance structure
  • Lead remediation efforts for control deficiencies, tracking issue resolution and ensuring sustainable fixes
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness through training and communication initiatives for operations staff

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in controls management, risk assessment, or internal audit within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record in managing operational controls in banking operations, including compliance with regulatory frameworks like Basel III and GDPR
  • Strong understanding of banking operations processes such as transaction processing, payments, and reconciliation
  • Experience with control testing, issue remediation, and reporting to senior management
  • Fluency in English and German, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP)
