You will collaborate closely with front-office traders, product managers, and compliance teams to identify and mitigate legal risks in fast-paced trading activities and new product launches. Additionally, you will monitor regulatory changes from authorities such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), translating them into actionable guidance for the business. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support to the Corporate and Investment Bank's exchange traded products (ETP) and retail structured products businesses, including product structuring and documentation
  • Review and negotiate trading agreements, ISDA master agreements, and bespoke contracts for derivatives and structured notes
  • Advise on regulatory compliance matters, including disclosures under PRIIPs and MiFID II, to ensure adherence to UK and EU laws
  • Collaborate with front-office teams, compliance, and risk management to mitigate legal risks in product launches and ongoing operations
  • Handle investigations and responses to regulatory inquiries from bodies such as the FCA and SEC
  • Draft and review marketing materials, term sheets, and offering documents for retail structured products
  • Support global transaction teams on cross-jurisdictional deals involving ETPs and structured investments
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments in the financial markets and implement necessary updates to business practices
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to training programs on structured products law within JPMorgan Chase

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial services law, preferably in structured products or derivatives
  • Admitted to practice in the UK or another common law jurisdiction with relevant experience in English law
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks including MiFID II, EMIR, and PRIIPs applicable to exchange traded and structured products
  • Experience advising on complex financial transactions involving retail and institutional clients in the investment banking sector
  • Demonstrated ability to manage legal risks in high-volume, fast-paced trading environments
  • Excellent academic credentials, such as a law degree from a top-tier university and completion of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) or equivalent
