You will partner closely with trading desks, product control, and compliance teams to support innovative deal execution while mitigating legal and operational risks. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on the structuring, documentation, and execution of structured products across EMEA markets
  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex trading agreements, including ISDA Master Agreements and confirmations for derivatives
  • Advise on regulatory compliance matters related to MiFID II, EMIR, and other EMEA-specific rules impacting structured finance
  • Collaborate with front-office teams, compliance, and risk management to mitigate legal risks in product innovation
  • Support litigation and regulatory investigations involving structured products
  • Contribute to the development of legal policies and playbooks for the Markets Practice Group
  • Mentor and supervise junior members of the legal team on structured products matters
  • Monitor and analyze emerging legal and regulatory trends in global financial markets
  • Assist in internal training sessions on structured products legal issues
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulators as needed for high-stakes transactions

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with admission to practice in England and Wales or another common law jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience in structured products or derivatives law within a major financial institution or top-tier law firm
  • Deep knowledge of EMEA regulatory frameworks including MiFID II, EMIR, and PRIIPs
  • Proven experience advising on complex structured finance transactions involving equities, fixed income, and FX products
  • Strong understanding of ISDA, EMTA, and other standard market documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a bulge-bracket investment bank, ideally JPMorgan Chase or similar
  • Prior involvement in cross-border structured products deals in EMEA markets
  • Knowledge of sustainable finance and ESG-linked structured products
  • Advanced degree in law or finance (e.g., LLM or MBA)
  • Track record of mentoring junior lawyers or contributing to legal training programs
