Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for tax asset classes, ensuring accurate financial reporting within the Firmwide Financial Control organization
  • Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of tax asset balances, including deferred tax assets and liabilities, to support JPMorgan Chase's consolidated financial statements
  • Collaborate with tax, treasury, and business line partners to validate tax asset valuations and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax asset controlling activities
  • Support regulatory filings and disclosures related to tax positions, including SOX compliance and SEC reporting requirements
  • Conduct variance analysis on tax asset portfolios and provide insights to senior management on financial impacts
  • Assist in the preparation of management reporting and forecasting for tax-related financial metrics
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects, such as system implementations or responses to internal/external audits
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and accounting standards, assessing their impact on JPMorgan Chase's financial reporting
  • Ensure adherence to JPMorgan's risk management frameworks in all tax asset controlling activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial controlling, tax accounting, or asset management within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards, particularly as they relate to tax assets and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using tools like Excel
  • Experience with regulatory reporting requirements for financial institutions
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Taxation) from an accredited institution
  • Prior experience at a major financial institution like JPMorgan Chase or similar
