Based in our Tokyo office, you will report to the Head of Payments Sales for Asia-Pacific and collaborate with teams across product development, compliance, and client services to shape the future of corporate banking. In this high-impact position, your primary focus will be on cultivating strategic relationships with senior executives in finance and operations, identifying opportunities to integrate JP Morgan's comprehensive payment ecosystem—including FX hedging, trade finance, and digital wallets—into their operations. You will lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting and needs assessment to closing deals and ensuring seamless onboarding, all while aligning with JP Morgan's commitment to ethical practices and regulatory excellence in Japan's financial landscape. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of local market dynamics, such as the adoption of Zengin and J-FX systems, combined with global expertise to position JP Morgan as the trusted partner for efficient, secure cross-border transactions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for corporate payment solutions targeting multinational corporations in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives and treasury teams of key clients to identify payment needs and opportunities
  • Collaborate with product, risk, and compliance teams at JP Morgan Chase to tailor payment offerings, including real-time payments, FX, and trade finance integrations
  • Drive revenue growth by achieving sales targets for payment products, such as JPM Coin and digital payment platforms
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends in corporate payments and recommend enhancements to JP Morgan's offerings
  • Lead presentations, RFPs, and negotiations to secure new business and expand existing client portfolios
  • Mentor junior sales staff and contribute to the development of sales training programs within the Tokyo team
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with JP Morgan's risk management policies and Japanese financial regulations
  • Monitor competitor activities in the payments space and position JP Morgan as the preferred partner for innovative solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payments sales or corporate banking within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record in selling payment solutions to corporate clients in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Strong understanding of global payment systems, including SWIFT, SEPA, and real-time payment networks
  • Fluency in English and Japanese, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a multinational financial institution, preferably in Tokyo or similar markets

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or International Business
