Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice on corporate tax planning, withholding obligations, and information reporting to senior executives and business units at JP Morgan Chase
  • Develop and implement tax withholding strategies compliant with U.S. and international regulations, including FATCA and CRS
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for tax-related transactions in investment banking and asset management divisions
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure accurate tax information reporting and mitigate audit risks
  • Lead initiatives to optimize tax efficiency for corporate structures, including cross-border financing and mergers/acquisitions
  • Monitor legislative changes in tax laws and advise on their implications for JP Morgan Chase's global operations
  • Mentor junior tax professionals and oversee the preparation of complex tax returns and disclosures
  • Represent the firm in interactions with tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory bodies
  • Analyze and resolve complex tax controversies related to withholding and reporting errors

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; Master's degree or JD preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax advisory, with a focus on withholding and information reporting
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws, including FATCA, Chapter 3/4 withholding, and international tax treaties
  • Proven track record in advising multinational corporations on tax strategies within the financial services sector
  • CPA, Enrolled Agent, or equivalent professional certification required
  • Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems used in banking environments
  • Strong understanding of SEC and FINRA regulations impacting tax reporting in financial institutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Taxation or International Tax
  • Prior experience at a Big Four firm or major financial institution like JP Morgan Chase
  • Familiarity with blockchain and digital asset taxation in corporate finance
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional tax teams in a global bank
