Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on corporate tax strategies, focusing on withholding obligations for U.S. and non-U.S. clients
  • Develop and implement tax information reporting processes to ensure compliance with IRS and global regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, and business units to mitigate tax risks
  • Conduct due diligence on client tax documentation, such as W-8/W-9 forms, and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor regulatory changes in tax withholding and advise on impacts to JP Morgan Chase operations
  • Lead training sessions for internal stakeholders on tax withholding best practices
  • Prepare and review tax opinions, memos, and reports for senior management
  • Support audit responses and represent the firm in tax authority interactions
  • Optimize withholding strategies to minimize financial exposure while maintaining compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate tax advisory, with a focus on withholding and information reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax regulations, including FATCA, Chapter 3 and 4 withholding, and IRS reporting requirements
  • Professional certification such as CPA, Enrolled Agent, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in financial services or banking sector tax compliance
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex tax laws and apply them to business scenarios
