Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice on credit card products, marketing, and operations for Card Services and Connected Commerce divisions
  • Advise on regulatory compliance with federal and state laws, including drafting policies and procedures to mitigate risks
  • Support litigation and dispute resolution involving consumer credit issues, including class actions and regulatory inquiries
  • Collaborate with business leaders to develop innovative payment solutions while ensuring legal and regulatory adherence
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging trends in fintech, digital wallets, and connected commerce
  • Review and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and regulators in the payments ecosystem
  • Assist in responding to CFPB, FTC, and other regulatory examinations and audits
  • Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to firm-wide legal training on credit-related matters
  • Monitor legislative changes and advise on their impact to JPMorgan Chase's card portfolio

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 8+ years of relevant legal experience in financial services, with a focus on consumer credit and banking regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws governing credit cards, including Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA), and Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP)
  • Proven experience advising on regulatory compliance, litigation strategy, and risk management in a large financial institution
  • Strong understanding of payment processing, connected commerce, and emerging fintech regulations
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working at a major bank or financial services firm like JPMorgan Chase
  • Familiarity with CFPB examinations and enforcement actions related to credit products
