Key Responsibilities

  • Lead independent reviews of credit origination, underwriting, and monitoring processes within JP Morgan Chase's wholesale lending portfolios
  • Assess the effectiveness of credit risk management practices and identify areas for improvement to mitigate potential losses
  • Evaluate portfolio quality through detailed analysis of borrower financials, collateral, and covenant compliance
  • Collaborate with business lines, risk management, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on review findings for senior management and regulatory bodies
  • Develop and recommend enhancements to credit policies, procedures, and risk rating models
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis on credit portfolios to gauge resilience against economic downturns
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the ongoing training of credit review methodologies
  • Monitor emerging risks in wholesale lending sectors such as energy, healthcare, and real estate
  • Support audit and regulatory examinations by providing expert insights on credit processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in credit risk management, underwriting, or portfolio review within the financial services industry
  • Deep knowledge of wholesale lending products, including commercial real estate, corporate lending, and syndicated loans
  • Proven track record in conducting independent credit reviews and assessing credit processes in large financial institutions
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and OCC guidelines for credit risk
  • Experience with credit rating methodologies and portfolio stress testing
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for on-site reviews and client meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Risk Management
  • Certification as a Credit Risk Professional (CRP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • Prior experience at a major bank like JP Morgan Chase in wholesale banking or credit review functions
