Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to support JP Morgan Chase's global financial operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists and business analysts to deliver actionable insights for investment banking and asset management
• Implement data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions using tools like Apache Spark and Kafka for real-time financial data processing
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR and SEC requirements in the financial sector
• Optimize data architectures for scalability and performance in cloud environments like AWS, handling petabyte-scale datasets from trading and risk systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues, providing technical leadership to junior engineers
• Integrate machine learning models into data workflows to enhance predictive analytics for market trends and fraud detection
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to best practices in data engineering within JP Morgan's technology ecosystem
• Monitor and tune data systems for efficiency, reducing latency in critical financial reporting processes
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend innovations to improve data-driven decision-making in banking services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with a focus on building scalable data pipelines
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Strong experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure, in a financial services context
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and ETL processes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with adherence to financial compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with risk management or trading data systems
• Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics) or data engineering tools
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and data governance in banking applications
• Prior work at a large-scale financial institution handling high-volume transactional data
