Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and AWS services to support the IPB Platform Modernisation project
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data requirements for private banking applications
  • Implement ETL processes to ingest, transform, and store financial data securely in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency on AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models or data processing scripts to enhance client insights in international private banking
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security while handling sensitive financial information
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high standards of software reliability
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to drive project delivery
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data engineering systems to minimize downtime in production environments
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovations to improve the IPB platform

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or software development
  • Proficiency in Python programming with experience in data processing libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and Glue
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and relational databases like SQL Server or PostgreSQL
  • Experience working in agile environments with version control systems like Git
  • Ability to obtain necessary regulatory clearances for financial services roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field
  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in private banking or wealth management
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark or Kafka
  • Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty) or Python
  • Prior involvement in platform modernization projects involving legacy system migration
