Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Reference Data team in Hyderabad, overseeing daily operations and ensuring timely delivery of data management services
  • Manage and resolve complex client and internal stakeholder queries related to reference data for securities, counterparties, and instruments
  • Drive change management projects, including system enhancements, process automation, and regulatory compliance updates
  • Implement and monitor data quality controls, performing root cause analysis on discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
  • Collaborate with global teams to standardize reference data processes across JP Morgan Chase's Corporate & Investment Bank
  • Conduct team training, performance reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and data governance policies in line with financial industry standards
  • Analyze operational metrics to identify inefficiencies and recommend optimizations for cost savings and efficiency gains
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analytics needs for senior management on reference data trends and issues

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, reference data operations, or financial services data handling
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams within a high-volume operational environment
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, securities reference data, and regulatory requirements such as MiFID II or Dodd-Frank
  • Experience with data quality controls, reconciliation processes, and issue resolution in a banking context
  • Proficiency in SQL and data querying tools for managing large datasets
  • Ability to handle complex stakeholder queries and drive process improvements in a global financial institution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Finance, Data Analytics, or Business Administration
  • Certification in data management (e.g., CDMP) or financial data standards (e.g., ISO 20022)
  • Prior experience at a major investment bank like JP Morgan Chase or similar
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira for change initiatives
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure in a financial services setting
