Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance risk programs for data privacy, protection, use, storage, retention, and AI across JP Morgan Chase's Corporate & Investment Bank in EMEA
  • Conduct second-line-of-defense reviews and assessments to identify, mitigate, and report on data and AI-related compliance risks
  • Collaborate with first-line business units, technology teams, and third-party vendors to ensure adherence to GDPR, EU AI Act, and other relevant regulations
  • Provide expert advice on data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs) and AI risk evaluations for new financial products and initiatives
  • Monitor regulatory changes in data and AI landscapes, advising senior management on impacts to JP Morgan Chase's operations in Frankfurt and broader EMEA
  • Lead training programs and awareness initiatives on data privacy and AI ethics for employees in the financial services division
  • Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and remediation efforts related to data compliance issues
  • Analyze data flows and AI model deployments to ensure compliance with retention policies and secure storage practices in banking systems
  • Contribute to the firm's enterprise-wide compliance framework, integrating data and AI risks into CCOR (Corporate Compliance and Operational Risk) methodologies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., JD, LLM, or Master's in Data Privacy) preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs within the financial services industry
  • Deep knowledge of EU data protection regulations including GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and emerging AI regulations such as the EU AI Act
  • Proven experience in second-line-of-defense functions, conducting compliance assessments, and managing data privacy programs in a banking environment
  • Familiarity with financial sector-specific regulations like PSD2, DORA, and Basel III implications for data handling
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle management (collection, storage, retention, and disposal) in a global financial institution
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment with cross-functional teams across EMEA
