Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and deploying scalable solutions for JP Morgan Chase's financial platforms
• Serve as the primary technical decision-maker, defining architecture and technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives in investment banking and asset management
• Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies like AI/ML and blockchain to enhance risk modeling and transaction processing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and compliance experts, to deliver high-impact projects
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and security standards while optimizing system performance and reliability
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production deployment and monitoring
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, conducting code reviews, performance assessments, and talent development
• Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for multiple initiatives in a fast-paced financial environment
• Represent the team in executive forums, providing insights on technical feasibility and strategic alignment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
• Proven track record of leading large-scale software development projects in the financial services industry
• Deep expertise in modern software development practices, including agile methodologies and DevOps
• Strong understanding of financial systems, risk management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud in a financial context
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications in cloud architecture or cybersecurity (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP)
• Experience in developing trading platforms, payment systems, or blockchain applications for banking
• Prior leadership in global teams across multiple time zones, with a focus on India-based operations
• MBA or equivalent business acumen in fintech innovation
• Publications or contributions to open-source projects in financial technology

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python, or C++ for backend development in high-frequency trading systems
• Expertise in microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data pipelines for financial analytics
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab) and version control (Git)
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, including encryption and secure coding for financial data
• Agile and Scrum methodologies for team management
• Cloud computing skills in AWS or Azure for scalable financial applications
• Machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for predictive modeling in risk assessment
• Leadership and team-building abilities to motivate diverse engineering groups
• Analytical problem-solving for complex financial algorithms
• Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder presentations
• Project management skills using tools like Jira or Microsoft Project
• Knowledge of financial protocols (FIX, SWIFT) and APIs for banking integrations
