Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in the development and delivery of innovative financial solutions, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's strategic goals
• Serve as the primary technical decision-maker for your area, architecting scalable systems that support core banking operations like trading, risk assessment, and client services
• Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, including cloud computing, microservices, and data analytics, to enhance efficiency and competitiveness in the financial markets
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and prioritize features that meet regulatory and client needs
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and performance
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, conducting code reviews, promoting best practices, and resolving complex technical challenges
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies, mitigating risks in areas like data privacy and cybersecurity for financial applications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
• Proven track record of delivering complex software solutions in the financial services industry, including experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., SEC, FINRA)
• Deep expertise in modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures
• Strong understanding of financial technologies such as trading systems, risk management platforms, or payment processing
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a high-stakes environment, with a focus on innovation and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MBA or PhD) with a focus on technology or finance
• Experience in leading engineering teams at a major financial institution, particularly in investment banking or asset management
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications in financial services, such as fraud detection or algorithmic trading
• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or cybersecurity relevant to fintech
• Prior involvement in digital transformation initiatives within a global bank
