Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze electronic communications (email, instant messaging, social media) and voice recordings for compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
  • Utilize surveillance tools to detect potential risks, anomalies, or violations in trader and employee communications within JP Morgan Chase's trading and investment banking divisions
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, and risk management teams to investigate alerts and escalate findings as necessary
  • Develop and refine surveillance models to enhance detection of market abuse, insider trading, or other prohibited activities
  • Ensure adherence to CCOR Foundation principles by integrating surveillance into broader operational risk frameworks
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of communication archives to support regulatory reporting and examinations
  • Train and educate staff on communication policies and surveillance best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electronic communications surveillance, compliance monitoring, or risk management within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as SEC Rule 17a-4, FINRA regulations, and MiFID II related to communications surveillance
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and surveillance software used in financial institutions
