About the Role

J.P. Morgan's Equity Research team is a cornerstone of our Markets business, providing institutional clients with insightful, actionable analysis on global equities. We are seeking a motivated Analyst or Associate to join our Consumer Staples Equity Research team in London, focusing on the EMEA region. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis of Consumer Staples companies within the EMEA region
  • Build and maintain financial models to support investment recommendations
  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and client communications on sector trends and company performance
  • Interact with institutional clients to provide insights and respond to inquiries
  • Monitor market developments, earnings announcements, and macroeconomic factors affecting the sector
  • Collaborate with sales and trading teams to disseminate research and generate trading ideas
  • Attend industry conferences and company meetings to gather primary research
  • Contribute to the team's coverage of key Consumer Staples stocks, including buy/sell/hold recommendations
  • Assist in mentoring junior analysts and ensuring high-quality research output

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • MBA or CFA certification (or progress towards) for Associate level
  • 2-5 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or related financial services roles
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling and valuation techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial databases such as Bloomberg or FactSet
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the Consumer Staples sector or related industries
  • Advanced degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Fluency in additional European languages
  • Experience with equity research in EMEA markets
