Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive environmental and social due diligence assessments for corporate lending, project finance, and investment transactions
  • Evaluate potential ESG risks and opportunities in client portfolios, ensuring compliance with JPMorgan Chase's internal policies and global regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including credit risk, legal, and investment banking to integrate ESG considerations into deal structuring
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations on mitigation strategies for identified environmental and social risks
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with ESG covenants in financed projects and provide advisory support to clients
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes, such as EU Taxonomy or SEC climate disclosure rules, and advise on their implications
  • Support the development and implementation of ESG training programs for the Corporate and Investment Bank team
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including NGOs and regulators, to enhance JPMorgan Chase's sustainability initiatives
  • Contribute to firmwide risk management by identifying systemic ESG trends in the financial services industry

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in environmental and social risk assessment, preferably in financial services or consulting
  • Strong understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks and international standards such as Equator Principles
  • Proficiency in conducting due diligence on environmental and social impacts of projects and investments
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to travel as needed for site visits and client meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in sustainability, environmental management, or finance
  • Experience in the banking or investment sector, particularly with transaction advisory or risk management
  • Certification in ESG or sustainability (e.g., CFA ESG Investing Certificate or GRI Standards)
