Key Responsibilities

  • Process and settle equities trades for Hong Kong and China Connect markets, ensuring timely and accurate execution
  • Collaborate with global teams in Operations, Sales, and Trading to resolve settlement discrepancies and exceptions
  • Monitor trade flows, perform reconciliations, and manage cash and position breaks
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including reporting to HKEX and other regulatory bodies
  • Implement and test enhancements to settlement processes to improve efficiency and reduce risks
  • Provide support for system integrations and automate manual workflows using scripting or tools
  • Analyze settlement data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimization
  • Liaise with custodians, brokers, and counterparties to facilitate seamless trade settlements
  • Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning for the Equities Settlement team
  • Mentor junior associates and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions across the global team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in equities settlement, trade processing, or operations within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes, including settlement, clearing, and reconciliation for equities markets
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong and China Connect markets, including regulatory requirements from HKEX and CSRC
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as SWIFT, Bloomberg, or internal JPMorgan platforms
  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is highly advantageous
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with cross-time zone collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JPMorgan's internal settlement systems or similar large-scale banking platforms
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like MiFID II, EMIR, or Asia-Pacific specific rules
  • Prior exposure to automated trade settlement tools and exception management
