Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis of equity sectors and companies in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Build and maintain financial models, including DCF, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses
  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and recommendations for institutional clients
  • Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and company news to provide timely insights
  • Interact with company management, attend earnings calls, and participate in field research
  • Collaborate with sales and trading teams to support client queries and trading ideas
  • Contribute to the production of JP Morgan's equity research publications and thought leadership
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies in research activities
  • Support senior analysts in pitching ideas and managing research coverage universe

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in equity research, investment banking, or financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (business level)
  • CFA Level 1 or higher certification (or progress towards it)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in covering Japanese or regional equities
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance)
  • Previous internship or role at a bulge-bracket investment bank
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg or FactSet terminals
  • Mandarin language skills for cross-regional coverage
