Key Responsibilities

  • Lead equity research coverage for Life Science Tools & Diagnostics companies, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations to institutional clients
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models, forecasts, and valuation assessments for covered companies
  • Initiate and publish research reports, including initiations, updates, and event-driven notes, ensuring timely and insightful content
  • Engage with company management teams, attend industry conferences, and conduct due diligence to gather proprietary insights
  • Collaborate with JPMorgan Chase's sales and trading teams to support client interactions and pitch ideas
  • Monitor regulatory changes, M&A activity, and market trends in the life sciences sector to inform research outputs
  • Mentor and supervise junior analysts, fostering a high-performance research team
  • Present research findings at internal strategy sessions and external client meetings
  • Contribute to JPMorgan's broader healthcare research franchise by cross-coverage and thematic studies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and JPMorgan's internal policies in all research activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or consulting within the Life Sciences sector
  • Proven track record of leading research coverage on Life Science Tools & Diagnostics companies
  • Deep knowledge of biotechnology, diagnostics, and life sciences tools markets, including regulatory and competitive landscapes
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation expertise, with experience in DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions
  • Excellent communication skills, with a history of publishing high-impact research reports and presenting to institutional clients
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses or equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in a life sciences discipline such as Molecular Biology or Pharmacology
  • Prior experience at a top-tier investment bank or research firm covering healthcare equities
