Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis of companies in the specialty and consumer finance sectors to identify investment opportunities
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and scenario modeling
  • Prepare and publish high-quality equity research reports, notes, and recommendations for institutional clients
  • Interact with company management teams, attend industry conferences, and perform due diligence on potential investments
  • Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors impacting the consumer finance landscape
  • Collaborate with sales and trading teams to provide actionable insights and support client queries
  • Contribute to the development of sector-specific themes and forecasts for JP Morgan's research platform
  • Assist in mentoring junior analysts and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards
  • Participate in cross-team initiatives to enhance research coverage and client engagement strategies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in equity research, investment banking, or financial analysis within the financial services sector
  • Strong understanding of specialty finance and consumer finance industries, including credit cards, auto loans, and personal lending
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and equity research methodologies
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends
  • Series 7 and 86/87 licenses or willingness to obtain them
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Experience at a bulge-bracket investment bank or top-tier research firm
