Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead JP Morgan Chase's AI and data policy strategy across the APAC region, aligning with global objectives while addressing local regulatory nuances
  • Engage with key APAC regulators, governments, and policymakers to advocate for balanced AI and data policies that support innovation in financial services
  • Monitor and analyze emerging AI, data privacy, and fintech regulations in APAC markets, providing strategic insights to senior leadership
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry associations, think tanks, and peers to influence policy discussions on ethical AI use in banking
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Legal, Compliance, Technology, and Risk, to ensure JP Morgan Chase's AI initiatives comply with regional policies
  • Represent JP Morgan Chase at high-level forums, conferences, and working groups focused on AI governance and data protection in APAC
  • Drive thought leadership through whitepapers, position papers, and public speaking on AI's role in financial inclusion and risk mitigation
  • Assess policy risks and opportunities related to AI adoption in areas like fraud detection, algorithmic trading, and customer data analytics
  • Coordinate cross-border policy advocacy efforts to harmonize JP Morgan Chase's approach across APAC and global operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., JD, Master's in Public Policy) strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in policy advocacy, government relations, or regulatory affairs, with at least 5 years focused on AI, data privacy, or technology policy in the financial services sector
  • Proven track record of engaging with APAC governments, regulators, and industry bodies on emerging technology policies
  • Deep knowledge of APAC regulatory landscapes, including data protection laws (e.g., PDPA in Singapore, PDPO in Hong Kong) and AI governance frameworks
  • Experience in financial services, particularly in banking or fintech, with understanding of how AI and data policies impact global institutions like JP Morgan Chase
  • Strong network of contacts in APAC policy circles, including regulators such as the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working at a multinational financial institution or consulting firm on AI ethics and data compliance
  • Familiarity with global standards like GDPR, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and their implications for APAC
  • Fluency in Mandarin or another APAC language, in addition to English
  • Prior leadership role in policy development for AI-driven financial products or risk management
