Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily fund accounting tasks, including NAV calculations, capital calls, and distributions for private equity funds
  • Liaise with Japanese-speaking clients and institutional investors to provide timely fund reporting and resolve inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with local Hong Kong regulations and international accounting standards in all fund operations
  • Prepare and review financial statements, investor reports, and tax documents for private equity portfolios
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support fund onboarding, trade settlements, and reconciliation processes
  • Monitor fund performance metrics and assist in portfolio valuation using market data and third-party inputs
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks in fund servicing activities
  • Support ad-hoc projects such as system implementations or process improvements in the Private Fund Services team
  • Maintain accurate records in JP Morgan's proprietary systems and contribute to audit preparations
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members on fund accounting best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in private equity fund accounting or fund operations within the financial services industry
  • Fluency in Japanese (both written and spoken) at a business level, with proficiency in English
  • Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, including limited partnerships and alternative investments
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong financial regulations and GAAP/IFRS accounting standards
  • Relevant professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA (or in progress)
  • Experience with fund administration software or ERP systems like Investran or Advent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with institutional investors in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Familiarity with Japanese regulatory requirements for fund operations (e.g., FIEA compliance)
  • Advanced Excel skills with VBA or automation capabilities
  • Experience in a Big Four accounting firm or major asset management firm
