Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate posting of journal entries
  • Maintain general ledger integrity by reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with IFRS and internal policies
  • Collaborate with business units to review and approve financial transactions
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations for ledger activities
  • Analyze variances and investigate anomalies in financial data
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements for ledger management
  • Ensure adherence to JPMorgan Chase's control framework and risk management standards
  • Contribute to the preparation of regulatory filings and management reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general ledger accounting or financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP standards
  • Proficiency in financial systems like SAP or Oracle
  • Experience in month-end close processes within a large financial institution
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big Four accounting firm experience
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills including VBA
  • Prior exposure to JPMorgan Chase systems or similar global banking platforms
  • CPA or equivalent international certification
