Key Responsibilities

  • Support the structuring and execution of debt capital markets transactions, including bonds, loans, and hybrid securities
  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate client financing needs and market conditions
  • Prepare pitch books, offering memoranda, and marketing materials for DCM deals
  • Collaborate with sales, trading, and coverage teams to originate and execute mandates
  • Perform due diligence on issuers and monitor market trends in Asia-Pacific debt markets
  • Assist in client interactions, roadshows, and negotiations with investors
  • Ensure compliance with internal JPMorgan policies and Japanese financial regulations
  • Contribute to team initiatives for process improvements in DCM operations
  • Analyze competitive landscapes and provide insights on debt issuance strategies
  • Support senior team members in managing relationships with key corporate and institutional clients

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, debt capital markets, or fixed income
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, debt instruments, and financial modeling
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (business level)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • CFA or relevant certifications (e.g., Series 7 equivalent in Japan) preferred but not required
  • Legal right to work in Japan

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience at a bulge-bracket investment bank in DCM or related areas
  • Master's degree in Finance or MBA from a top-tier institution
  • Experience with syndicated loans, bonds, or structured finance products
  • Knowledge of Japanese regulatory environment (e.g., FSA guidelines)
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg or similar financial terminals
