Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior bankers in executing M&A, equity, and debt transactions for Japanese corporate clients
  • Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence for deals in the Japan coverage group
  • Prepare pitch books, client presentations, and market research reports tailored to Japanese industries
  • Build and maintain relationships with Japanese corporate clients and intermediaries
  • Coordinate with cross-regional teams to facilitate global transaction execution
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes in Japan
  • Assist in business development activities, including identifying new opportunities in key sectors like technology and manufacturing
  • Ensure compliance with J.P. Morgan's internal policies and Japanese financial regulations
  • Contribute to team initiatives for enhancing J.P. Morgan's presence in the Asian Pacific markets

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, financial services, or related roles for Analyst level; 3-5 years for Associate level
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, particularly in the Japanese and Asian Pacific regions
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (business level proficiency required)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Authorization to work in Japan without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or related field
  • Prior experience in Japan coverage or cross-border transactions involving Japanese corporates
