Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute trading strategies for short-term interest rate products, including money market instruments, futures, and swaps
  • Monitor and analyze global rates market movements, economic indicators, and central bank policies to identify trading opportunities
  • Manage risk exposure in the STIRT portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal limits and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with sales teams to provide market color, trade ideas, and hedging solutions to institutional clients
  • Utilize quantitative models and data analytics to optimize trading decisions and enhance liquidity provision
  • Contribute to the development of new trading products and strategies within JP Morgan's Global Markets platform
  • Liaise with operations, compliance, and technology teams to ensure seamless trade execution and settlement

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in rates trading, specifically in STIRT (Short-Term Interest Rate Trading) or similar fixed income markets
  • Proven track record in executing trades in global rates markets, with a focus on short-term instruments like deposits, repos, and FRAs
  • Strong understanding of market microstructure, liquidity dynamics, and risk factors in the interest rate derivatives space
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or Series 7 equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working in a high-pressure trading environment within a major financial institution
