Reporting to the Head of Commodities Research, you will work from our state-of-the-art office in New York, NY, collaborating with a diverse team of analysts, traders, and strategists to deliver actionable intelligence that informs client decisions and internal strategies in the dynamic energy sector. Your primary focus will be on analyzing key aspects of the U.S. natural gas landscape, including production trends in major basins like Permian and Haynesville, LNG export dynamics, and the interplay with global energy markets. You will develop proprietary models to forecast prices, assess supply disruptions, and evaluate the impact of policy shifts such as carbon pricing or infrastructure expansions. By producing insightful reports and engaging directly with institutional clients—ranging from energy majors to investment funds—you will enhance JPMorgan's reputation as a trusted advisor in commodities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of strategic research and proprietary insights on the U.S. natural gas market, including price forecasting, supply chain analysis, and geopolitical influences
• Collaborate with global commodities teams to integrate natural gas research into broader market outlooks and client advisory services
• Produce high-quality research reports, whitepapers, and presentations for internal stakeholders, institutional clients, and JP Morgan's trading desks
• Monitor and analyze key market drivers such as weather patterns, regulatory changes, and infrastructure developments affecting natural gas pricing and volatility
• Engage with clients, including hedge funds, utilities, and energy producers, to provide tailored insights and respond to market inquiries
• Contribute to JP Morgan's thought leadership by participating in industry conferences, webinars, and media interactions on natural gas topics
• Mentor junior analysts and support team development in research methodologies and market expertise
• Utilize advanced data analytics and modeling tools to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of natural gas market forecasts
• Assess risks and opportunities in the natural gas sector, incorporating macroeconomic trends and energy transition dynamics
• Ensure compliance with JP Morgan's research standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical guidelines in all outputs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Energy Studies, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Finance, or PhD) strongly preferred
• Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in natural gas market research, analysis, or trading within the financial services or energy sector
• Proven track record of producing high-impact research reports and insights on U.S. and global natural gas markets
• Deep knowledge of U.S. natural gas fundamentals, including supply-demand dynamics, LNG exports, pipeline infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, econometric analysis, and data interpretation
• Experience working in a global commodities research team at a major financial institution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex market insights to senior stakeholders and clients

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or similar professional certification
• Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, or other market data platforms for commodities research
• Prior leadership role in managing research teams or projects focused on energy commodities
• Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors impacting natural gas markets
• Publication history in industry journals or contributions to thought leadership in energy finance
