Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze loan applications to assess creditworthiness, income stability, and property value for home loans
  • Evaluate financial documents, credit reports, and appraisals to make informed lending decisions
  • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with JP Morgan Chase policies, Philippine regulatory requirements, and anti-money laundering standards
  • Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and legal teams to resolve complex application issues
  • Provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies and approve or deny loans within established authority limits
  • Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to process improvements in the home lending division
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory reporting
  • Support customer queries and educate internal teams on underwriting best practices
  • Stay updated on market trends, interest rates, and changes in lending guidelines
  • Contribute to team goals by mentoring junior underwriters and participating in training sessions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting or related lending roles
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine mortgage lending regulations and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in credit analysis and risk assessment for home loans
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and appraisal reports
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in local languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Mortgage Underwriter (CMU) or equivalent certification
  • Experience with JP Morgan Chase's underwriting systems and processes
